Teague Purtell Bio
- Born Oct.30, 1971 in Adelaide Australia
- Spent early childhood in Vancouver, British Columbia CANADA
- Later childhood and teen years in Newcastle, New Brunswick CANADA
- Became interested in music at a very early age. With first earliest
recollection being love for ABBA.
- Began playing Saxophone at 13 (thank you Mr.Doiron). Continued
to play and take lessons until high school graduation.
- Began playing piano at 14 . Continued to play and take lessons
until high school graduation. Never really stopped playing piano.
- Began playing guitar at 15 . Became favorite instrument (thank
you Mr. Learo). Formed first rock band. Played dances throughout
high school years. Went on to study seriously after high school.
- 1989-1990 Berklee College of Music, Boston, Mass. USA Studied
under the direction of Garrison Fewell.
- 1990-1991 Humber College, Toronto, Ontario CANADA Studied under
the direction of Peter Harris. Played in small jazz ensemble and
rock cover band.
- 1991-1993 Traveled with Disaster Area and Battery (Metallica
Tribute) across the United States and Canada playing nearly 500
shows.
- 1993-1997 Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio USA Studied
under the direction of Bob Fraser. Played guitar in the CSU Big
Band and a small guitar ensemble.
- 1994 Began playing cello. Received scholarship and studied under
the direction of Brian Dumm from the Cleveland Orchestra. While
at CSU played cello in the CSU orchestra and a string quartet.
- 1995 Hired to teach group classes at new state of the art teaching
facility in Parma OH.
- 1996 Did a series of guitar clinics for Lentines Music
- 1997 Teamed with Don Richards to start group music lessons at
his 22 year old Piano and Organ Sales Center.
- 1997 Joined Moonlight Drive (North America's first tribute to
The Doors).
- 1998 Rejoined Disaster Area. Slowly becoming cyberfied.
- 1999 The official opening of Teague Purtell Music Learning and
Musiclearning.Com
- 2000 Spent the year learning about internet marketing and making
lessons for the members section.
- 2001 Met Andrew Braxton and formed Esoteriqa with drummer Dave
Cowan (full time Berklee teacher) and bassist Katz Goto
- 2002 Began the recording of first solo cd.
- 2003 Finished solo cd. 13 tracks
- 2004 Formed live band to be known as Trip
Fuse to perform solo cd.
- 2005 Trip Fuse performs throughout Ohio concentrating on Cleveland,
Columbus, Akron/Canton, Elyria, Sandusky and Toledo.
- 2006 August 25th - Marks the end of 9 years playing guitar with
legendary Moonlight Drive
- 2006 The big 2600 mile move to Vancouver B.C. Canada.
